    Under general supervision, the International Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for complex and interpretive financial research and analysis for middle or senior management for use in the development and measurement of business strategies and tactics with a focus on UL’s non-US activities. Provides technical expertise to auditors relating to US federal and non-US income tax matters. Understands and provides guidance to Corporate Finance employees as well as other departments and auditors on moderately complex US and non-US tax issues. Independently analyzes accounts and reports, prepares analysis and supporting documentation related to transfer pricing and non-US tax matters. Works with the Tax Director and other management to assure Federal and non-US tax compliance requirements are met accurately and efficiently.


    • Independently analyzes accounts and reports, prepares analysis and supporting documentation. Applies fundamental accounting concepts and practices with a focus on transfer pricing and non-US tax matters.
    • Helps maintain and update transfer pricing documentation.
    • Provides periodic reports and special studies for middle and senior management based on UL’s financial performance. 
    • Works with Tax management team on US and non-US related tax matters.  Area of focus on predominantly international tax matters.
    • May advise applicable company functions/departments on international tax laws and regulations such as: income taxes, tax treaties, and tax withholdings.
    • Performs other duties as directed.


    • University Degree (Equivalent to a U.S. Bachelor’s Degree) in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.  Four years of tax related work experience with two years work experience in international tax required
    • Certified Public Accountant certification preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to interpret domestic and international tax concepts and regulations
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and calculate the impact opportunities have on the company
    • Detailed knowledge of the US tax legislation and accounting principles
    • Working knowledge of ASC 740, accounting for income taxes preferred
    • Experience in OneSource preferred
    • Experience in tax automation projects and strong data analytics skills preferred
    • Experience in transfer pricing and knowledge of the international provisions of US tax reform strongly preferred
