    UL is currently seeking an Electrical  Technician for our Fremont, CA office. In this role, you will have the opportunity to be innovative and creative in growing this area of our business from the ground level. A successl Electrical technician sets up and performs a variety of tests and provides feedback and will prepare data sheets.

     This position will give you the opportunity to see something new every day! You will run tests on various products such as:

    • High tech products
    • Audio/Visual 
    • Lighting
    • Household appliances
    • Commercial appliances
    • Energy testing

    As a team member, you may experience loud explosions, sparks, smoke and fire. You will be trained how to handle these safely in a controlled environment.



    • Examines test samples and read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, measuring instruments, and operational instructions. 
    • Builds and/or adapts setup and test equipment to new situations, based on data sheets and instructions from engineering department personnel. 
    • Operates designated machines and special laboratory equipment. Performs routine maintenance of designated test equipment and laboratory area.
    • Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and other laboratory personneL.
    • Records observed or calculated data on appropriate UL forms and prepares data sheets and test reports.  May plan tests, evaluate test results and report opinions and interpretations, as directed.
    • Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
    • Performs other duties as directed.


    • Some University education in a related discipline (AS in technology/technical program is preferred)
    • Strong knowledge in AC/DC - electronics 
    • General construction is a plus
    • Team oriented
