To ensure that all these new technologies are working correctly, UL’s Transaction Security (UL TS) division tests and certifies these technologies in Point-of-Sale payment terminals, ATMs, mobile phones, online shops and payment cards on behalf of international schemes like Mastercard and Discover, just before they get launched to the market.
UL TS is hiring a Technical Analyst for our Global Compliance and Interoperability Services (CIS) department. CIS ensures interoperability of payment cards, terminals, host systems and e-commerce systems by delivering testing and certification services to the major payment schemes and top 500 financials. As a result of the gained knowledge and experience from this certification services, UL enables a better time to market for upcoming changes of secure transaction infrastructures needed for industry trends, like mobile payments and e-ticketing solutions for public transit.
The Technical Analyst’s main focus is performing certification and quality evaluation activities on mobile payment phones, payment cards and card acceptance devices like Point-of-Sale terminals, ATMs, pin pads, electronic cash registers to ensure the relevant regional and global payment products are working properly. This includes but it not limited to using the relevant tools, testing, analyzing and validating test results provided by the customer, solving issues, and reporting to the customer and to the international schemes. You will remotely support the customer during their test activities and the certification process in order to achieve a smoothly running certification. As a Technical Analyst you have the opportunity to work with the latest testing tools. You will be based in the Atlanta office, yet interact with the Technical Analysts in our other regions on a daily basis. You will participate in improvement of business efficiency by maintaining test procedure documents and tools as well. The Technical Analyst will be reporting into the CIS Manager in the Netherlands.
