As a Human Resources Manager for the Not-for-Profit, you'll be responsible for helping to develop and execute HR strategy and implementation of HR initiatives in the NFP. You'll partner closely with the COO on business strategy and the people implications associated with it, and will be responsible for working with the HR Operations team globally to provide responsive approaches to employee relation’s issues, HR initiatives, and corporate or divisional/affiliate programs.

Responsibilities

  • Support the NFP and execute on high level people strategy, workforce planning, annual performance appraisals, salary planning, and other HR support.
  • Work closely with the other BU and Function HR Business Partners, Corporate HR subject matter experts, and Regional HR teams, oversee key HR processes for the NFP and drive their execution, including active involvement in the recruitment/staffing of key talent, performance management, salary planning, leadership and management development, career and succession planning, assessment strategies and approaches, turnover analysis/retention statistics, etc.
  • Develop and execute sourcing/recruiting strategies in support of business needs, and provide leadership for recruiting and retention of talent including attracting and retaining top talent to achieve our goals and mission while avoiding extended openings in critical positions. Partner, as required, with the regional and local HR teams to ensure fulfillment of open vacancies.
  • Work with local/regional HR talent, Finance, etc.
  • Use tools such as Power BI, Oracle OBIEE, and others to develop analytics to support the NFP. Presents findings to leadership as necessary. This includes hiring metrics, turnover analysis, and other relevant metrics.
  • Develop and implement HR programs using knowledge of organizational goals and objectives.
  • Researche and propose HR innovations (including new technology ideas, etc.) and services to greatly improve people engagement and performance, leverage data analytics to help the business and HR make even better business and people decisions (including predictive analytics) and stay abreast of current trends and best practices – with recommendations of what might best fit UL, and then helping to execute on those which are supported.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • University Degree (Equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree) in Human Resources Administration, Business Administration or a directly related discipline, plus generally eight years of professional level Human Resources experience
  • Not-for-profit, foundation, charity, or related experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in organizational design/development strongly preferred
  • Strong demonstrated working knowledge of concepts, procedures, practices, and legislation related to HR law and workplace guidelines
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully interface with senior management
  • Strong experience with leadership development and conflict resolution
  • Knowledge and some experience in change management at the operational level
  • Works well in a team environment and has ability to establish and facilitate teams
  • Detailed knowledge of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of laws and regulations related to human resources management and how they impact the implementation of human resources policies, procedures, practices, and programs
