UL is currently seeking a full-time Copywriter to join our Health Sciences content team in Northbrook, IL. Approximately 50% of this position will involve editing and improving existing web pages on our website, presentations, and other marketing content, and working with internal subject matter experts to ensure content is accurate and up-to-date. Roughly 30% involves writing and updating general market information pages and content landing pages. The remaining 20% revolves around social media management and internal communication writing and editing.

This person will work with internal consultants to verify and update new and existing content. The services we sell are complicated and require someone who enjoys learning complex regulatory processes. This is not a technical writer position but the ideal candidate will not be intimidated by technical content


  • Write and maintain general information web pages and content landing pages
  • Revise/improve existing service pages and manage review process
  • Copyedit technical articles and white papers, and have them reviewed internally
  • Enhance and modify PowerPoint presentations for webinars
  • Copyedit and proofread other marketing materials and internal documents as needed
  • Manage social media accounts (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook)


  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, English, or similar area is required 
  • 2+ years of writing and editing experience - writing samples will be requested
  • Ability to convey complex medical device regulations clearly and concisely
  • Detail oriented with excellent project management skills
  • Self-motivated and able to be efficient with little daily oversight. Able to prioritize multiple projects with long time frames and keep them on track
  • Ability to be proactive in seeking work opportunities
  • Basic HTML desired but not required
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with Google Analytics desired but not required
  • You must be authorized to work in the USA
