We are looking for a Software Business Systems Analyst to join our growing team.  This role is responsible for developing business, software, and technical requirements utilizing the ability to translate business opportunities into software and technical solutions. Projects include complex implementation/expansion of UL’s software platforms including but not limited to the compliance management and learning management systems.  The interoperability with clients’ human resources, document management and other enterprise systems and requirements is critical to successful deployment.  In addition to client engagements, there will be opportunities to deliver critical internal “innovation” projects within the company.


In this role you are responsible for:

  • Analysis, requirements development/documentation and technology consulting for implementation of client projects (implementations, upgrades, enhancements).
  • Developing and maintaining Business Requirements Documentation and Functional Requirements Documentation for each assigned client project, working in conjunction with assigned project managers, application developers and client representatives.
  • Pre-sales analysis support, responding to RFP’s, developing statements of work and providing project estimates
  • Escalating issues that are irresolvable at the program management level.
  • Ensuring business and revenue objectives by delivering to client expectations on time. Ensuring client satisfaction and quality of all deliverables.
  • Ensuring department compliance with regulations of 21 CFR Part II and all company processes directed by SOPs.
  • Developing trusting relationships with client personnel, especially program management counterpart.
  • Managing multiple engagements simultaneously.
  • Meeting or exceeding client expectations.
  • Working with departments across the organization to create/improve standards, procedures and best practices that can be applied across clients, processes, proprietary systems, and all IT applications.


  • A minimum of 3 years professional experience as a business analyst in professional services and/or consulting.
  • Strong attention to detail is a must
  • Experience managing technology based projects; particularly SaaS web-based solutions, including learning and knowledge based systems.
  • Experience in analysis of business process and workflow and providing an evaluation, benchmark and/or process improvement recommendations
  • Experience within compliance-based business environments, such as life sciences systems
  • Knowledge of training processes and standards required by a company regulated by the FDA preferred.
  • Experience working in a Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) environment.
  • Able to work with a variety of clients at various levels at the same time.
  • Working in an entrepreneurial environment in a dynamic situation – react quickly and think on feet, be creative and understand what the client needs.
  • High level of proficiency in defining and managing client expectations through verbal communication, oral communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Ability/willingness to travel up to 20%.
