Responsibilities

In this exciting role, the Marketing Manager will manage all nationwide marketing activities, as well as the development of marketing plans and strategies for the UL Consumer Technology (CTECH) Division and ensure their implementation. He/she will develop and implement key elements of the overall UL Corporate marketing and CTECH marketing strategy, incorporating needs of the domestic business and client base as well as coordinating with international operations and key stakeholders within the business.

  • Manages the development of market assessments and ongoing creation and implementation of marketing plans, through direct involvement with commercial, client services, operations and technical teams to ensure that the marketing function is abreast of changing market trends and client needs
  • Work with sales team – You’ll be expected to work with and support the sales team so that they are equipped with the necessary tools to achieve their goals. This includes collateral development, campaign management and reporting
  • Collaborate with other regional marketing managers in the CTECH division as well as the global content, lead generation and digital functions to develop, implement and manage global campaigns and initiatives in order to achieve synergies and accelerate the achievement of pre-defined KPIs
  • Content – you’ll be expected to liaise with technical and subject matter experts as well as the business development team to harvest content and identify opportunities for content development such as white papers, videos, blogs and case studies and work with a network of vendors in order to develop and execute the content and campaign plans
  • Lead Generation / Content - Assist in our current efforts to transform the content we produce internally in written and video formats to promote through social media channels and on our website to attract new leads and prospects
  • Lead Nurturing - Analyze and grow the lead nurturing using a systematic approach to convert anonymous site visitors and target client personas to qualified leads. You will decide on continued use of our marketing automation / email nurture tool or recommended replacement
  • CRM management and reporting - You will be responsible for supporting a reporting structure for lead flow and eventual sales through the organization
  • Web site - You will be responsible for ensuring the website is engaging and populated with fresh and insightful content for our customers
  • Branding - You will be a strong brand ambassador to ensure our brand is clearly explained and represented in all channels and efforts
  • Measurement - Measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns, and assess against goals (ROI and KPIs). You will use marketing automation, CRM, and other tools to provide insight for actionable next steps in improvement
  • Trends - Identify trends and insights, and optimize spend and performance based on the insights. In addition, evaluate emerging technologies for potential adoption
  • Brainstorm - Research and identify new and creative growth strategies
  • Collaboration – you will collaborate closely with the Corporate Marketing function in order to leverage and incorporate UL brand and communications management into CTECH marketing plans and tactics
  • Frequent customer contact- with this you will identify new business and market opportunities, and recommend strategies to develop and implement
  • Marketing budget management - to ensure adequate funding exists and budget is adhered to
  • Global coordination with regional marketing managers and directors of marketing and sales around the world
  • Performs other duties as directed

Qualifications

  • University Degree in business administration or a related marketing and business discipline plus generally six to eight years of experience in market analysis, development of business plans, communications, and competitive marketing strategies, some of which includes managerial skills
  • Extensive experience with managing agencies, branding, and complex integrated marketing campaigns
  • Digital Marketing experience a must together with strong ROI analytical skills
  • Experience with Google analytics, MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite, SharePoint, MS Dynamics, or other CRM systems as well as experience with Marketing Automation platforms such as Marketo or Eloqua are preferred.
  • Strong prioritizing and organizational skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills, and must be comfortable presenting to both internal and external stakeholders as well as communicating with executives
  • Event management and Media Relations experience is required
  • Strong comfort in working with virtual teams on a global level and liaising primarily with counterparts in Europe and Asia
  • Domestic travel is involved; up to 40%
