Responsibilities

Under general supervision, maintains and oversees media preparation facility and ensures media is prepared for various laboratory activities.

 

  • Prepares media and reagents and performs Quality Control testing on microbiological media, diluents, reagents, standards, etc. as required.
  • Maintains, calibrates, and operates various laboratory equipment and instrumentation, including Autoclaves and automatic pipetter.
  • Able to organize and prioritize media preparation activities, including but not limited to: following recipes, sterilizing media and supplies, sterilizing and disposal of biohazardous waste.
  • Adheres to and ensures safety compliance within a Biosafety Level 2 environment and in working with live cultures.
  • Receives instructions from and reports data to manager, group leaders, and other laboratory staff.
  • Records observed or calculated data on appropriate data sheets.
  • Helps integrate continuous improvement concepts and techniques for lab site.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • Higher Secondary Education
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic laboratory tests and record basic laboratory results.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and capable of lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Schedule is Monday- Friday, 10am - 7pm.
  • During training period, shift will be Monday-Friday 8am-5pm.
