Under general supervision, conducts investigations for Consumer clients by assembling test setups, recording test data, conducting standardized tests, and assembling and disassembling products, materials and equipment for performance testing products. As instructed, examines basic customer samples and conducts basic laboratory tests.


  • Performs an assessment and disassembles/separates complex consumer items into individual test components.
  • Properly identifies and prepares individual test components for chemistry testing.
  • Operates designated testing equipment as directed, including X-ray fluorescence instrumentation, cryogenic mills, and analytical balances.
  • Receives instructions from and reports data to laboratory technician staff. Records observed or calculated data on appropriate data sheets.
  • Works with hand tools, power tools, cutting devices, etc.
  • Helps integrate continuous improvement concepts and techniques for lab site.
  • Performs other duties as directed.


  • Higher Secondary Education
  • Demonstrated ability to perform basic laboratory tests and record basic laboratory results
  • Ability to work with computer systems such as MS Office, LIMS, and other systems
  • Detail oriented, capable of working in a fast-paced enviornment
