The UL Consumer and Retail Services (CRS) group is one of the premier providers of consumer goods quality assurance testing, inspection, auditing, certification and responsible sourcing services worldwide. We are a recognized world leader in each of our core lines of business, including textiles and apparel, toys and toy premiums, health and beauty care, dietary supplements, over-the-counter drugs, and general consumer merchandise, with a network of fourteen ISO 17025 accredited laboratories. Our Technical & Innovations Team has established relationships with key government and regulatory organizations globally, which allows us to anticipate and consult with our clients on the effects of regulatory change on their sourcing decisions.


The Senior Sales Executive is responsible for building and promoting strong customer relationships through understanding the customers’ needs and turns those needs into leads in the Apparel and Softlines Industry.


Provide quality service to softlines customers in order to grow and achieve profitable revenue and sales in the respective region and/or LOB. The Sales Executive is responsible for selling both for the local market and to win nominations to service global retail supply chains, exclusively or as one of multiple approved service providers. There will also be active engagement within the supply chain of the client working with their agents, vendors and factories.


  1. Able to identify the pain point of the customers and provide solutions in solving the pain point.
  2. Lead client engagement by building and promoting strong customer relationships by partnering with them and understand their needs. Ability to work closely with the middle management level and key decision maker levels for large and medium customers in order to draw sales leads, grow and achieve profitable sales and revenues for the business.
  3. Able to develop, document and deliver sales strategy (domestically and internationally) according to customers’ needs. Manage and negotiate proposal and contract development for all opportunities utilizing established procedures by all stakeholders (legal, sales, client service, operations, etc).
  4. Develops and coordinates sales proposals (proposals, RFPs, RFIs, etc.) and sales presentations for potential new clients.
  5. Manages sales pipelines, forecasting and focus on closing each sales opportunity to meet monthly sales forecast. Document all sales actives in designated CRM Tool.
  6. Stays up to date with and understands latest market developments and trends and be fully aware of competition status.
  7. Actively participate in industry events (conferences, working groups, etc.) for assigned CRS line of business.
  8. Develops sales presentations for potential new clients. Leads the sales presentations in support of growing the clientele for ULs services.
  9. Engages with Business Development Team to provide input related to new products, services and/or markets to progress the CRS business.
  10. Implements industry strategies on a regional basis, providing input to industry teams with marketplace and account feedback.
  11. Proactively perform all aspects of planning, organizing, engaging, communicating and managing information and resources to bring about the successful management of client requests with the UL worldwide network of internal business partners to meet and exceed client expectations.
  12. Escalate issues that do not meet client expectations to management for engagement and resolution.
  13. Work in conjunction with Sales Manager to accurately forecast opportunity revenue by product line and by region.
  14. Performs other duties as directed.


  • Previous commercial experience is a must. Strong experience with softliness companies is required.
  • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree) in a related discipline plus generally 5 years of directly related experience
  • Motivated, directed and driven individual and also a strong team player across departments and functions.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, to handle crisis situations and balance several tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong business and financial acumen (forecasting sales, evaluating customer business needs)
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely within cross-cultural workforce and client base.
  • General knowledge of company policies and sales processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute projects to stated objectives.
  • Has a good understanding of CRS products and services.
  • High proficiency in use of MS Office products and reporting tools. (Word, Excel, Dynamics, etc)
  • Significant business travel of up to 50% and work outside of the office required
