Responsibilities

Management

  • Direct line-management of Senior and Lead Consultants within the team. Ideally this will be 9 consultants maximum but may flex during transition periods. This includes annual and 120-day reviews, objective setting and any pastoral care as required.
  • Leading weekly team meetings fostering sharing within the team.
  • Representing the team in any meetings as required including Start the Week and Town Hall.
  • Approval of daily timesheets and follow-up with consultants as necessary.
  • Capacity / resource planning – using the OpenAir application to ensure all upcoming tasks are assigned to effective resource.

Project oversight

  • Ensuring quality delivery across all projects led by team members.
  • Enforces standards for well thought out, maintainable, production quality code
  • Acting as escalation point for any projects not running as per client expectations. Escalating further as required.
  • Identifying any projects not running to plan and proactively addressing before the client is impacted.

Training / on-boarding

  • Deploy tailored training programs for all key members of the team to ensure their initial and continued professional development.

Identify resource requirements and work with HR / Leadership team to actively recruit where required. This may include internal as well as external sources.

Qualifications

Experience: Minimum commercial experience of 4 years. Experience in software implementation with a focus on technical skills is essential.

Education: The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent.

Required skills, knowledge and characteristics:

  • A high level of numeracy
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, Oracle, SQL databases, and XML form configuration
  • Detail-oriented
  • Familiarity with web-based applications
  • Effective communicator with good interpersonal skills as this is a customer-facing role
  • Experience leading multiple, concurrent client-facing implementations
  • Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Strong understanding of project scoping, definition of customer requirements and how best to communicate these internally
  • Strong leadership experience, leading team members across multiple projects, with the aim of achieving the overall commercial/business goals
  • Proven background in successful implementation of large technical implementations (preferably ERP systems)

Desirable skills, knowledge and characteristics:

  • Previous experience in a customer facing role within a private sector company environment
  • Ability to learn new software applications rapidly
  • Knowledge of relational databases or technical experience is a must (in particular SQL & XML)
  • Line management qualities, encouraging and supporting personal development of team members and preparing the team’s skills/knowledge to achieve the business goals effectively
  • Project management experience desirable
