Responsibilities

Responsible for the management of strategy of the Food Safety business in conjunction with business leadership. Through direct and indirect reports, supervises and trains new and experienced staff on the completion of assigned client food safety audits and other services. Supervises operational procedures and develops best practices. Ensures audits are performed with consistency and efficiency.

 

  1. Serves as a client account manager for key accounts, assuring two way communication and customer focus is maintained or exceeded.
  2. Supervises the strategy of the Food Safety business in conjunction with business leadership.
  3. Through direct and indirect reports, supervises and trains new and experienced staff on the completion of assigned client food safety audits and other services.
  4. Supervises and develops programs for productivity and performance improvement.
  5. Ensures audit work is done consistently and efficiently through Group Leaders and Auditors.   Provides feedback for continuous improvement.  Develops best practices for operational protocol.
  6. Supervises Foodborne illness, Crisis Management Program, Standardization, Onboarding, and/or small supplier programs.
  7. Supervises the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.
  8. Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • University degree in a science curriculum plus generally four years of experience in retail food safety, restaurant food safety, Environmental Health, Public Health or other relevant experience. 
  • RS or REHS Certification, or equivalent certification required.
  • Epidemiological experience required.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Ability to manage projects and programs, set strategies and timelines.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking background.
