Responsible for managing the implementation of significant projects involving complex systems or multiple deliverables within a department or functional area. Plans and directs program schedules and budgets. Monitors program from project initiation through delivery, interfacing with stakeholders on applicable matters. Oversees the coordination of program/project activities generally within a department or functional area. Organizes interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the program on schedule and within budget constraints. Assigns and monitors work of program staff.


  • Leads and coordinates process and system design teams while coordinating multiple implementations worldwide. Clarifies and implements processes that utilize leading edge technologies and result in measurable business improvements that help our customers win. Integrates, sequences and prioritizes Building and Life Safety Technologies (BLST) initiatives to measurably improve service delivery processes and systems.
  • Manages several complex projects, critical to business goals and objectives, as well as lead cross-functional team(s) and subject matter experts in the development, planning, automation and implementation of new and revised approaches that enable the BLST Vision and Strategy. Leads the team(s) to define priorities and resources allocated to initiatives or projects. Defines and gains alignment of scope and success criteria, plans schedules, drives work efforts, and monitors project(s)/program (s) from inception through delivery. Develops and manages communications with cross-functional team members and senior management across the organization (including with other Business Units as required) and engages and oversees the work of external vendors.
  • Reports to BLST Leadership and has visibility across the organization, including providing ongoing report outs to BLST Leadership.
  • Drives change and translates the BLST vision and strategy into effective processes and programs to drive business growth and profitability while helping our customers win. Serves as a change catalyst and a leader of organizational transformation who is also a highly visible champion communicating the change story and our approach to achieving business success.
  • Drives work with key stakeholders across BLST division and functions, which may also include across business units if required.
  • Creates and manages a strong framework for monitoring and coordinating all projects/programs and manages the impact of these on BLST, UL and our customers. Tracks and follows up on process dependencies and communicates status to upper management and required stakeholders within BLST, Product Safety, the Steering Committee and UL’s Core Leadership Team. Defines and reports on issues and success metrics.
  • Identifies and manages areas of global risk/opportunity, and influences and implements continuous improvement efforts at all times.
  • Implements best practices to successfully drive projects/programs and strategic initiatives through to successful execution.
  • Leads global cross-functional team(s) and subject matter experts across the organization in the planning and implementation of multiple projects to support the overall BLST Strategy implementation.
  • Plays an active role in solving high-level business problems to identify and execute logical programs.
  • Estimates work efforts for the team and manages resources, including budget, accordingly.
  • Works closely with BLST Leadership to understand priorities, influence decisions, propose solutions and ensure success of key priorities.
  • Travel both domestically and internationally (as required) in working with and leading global process and project management teams.
  • Performs other duties as directed.


  • University degree in Business Administration, Project Management or related field plus generally ten years of directly related experience
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate customer meetings, negotiate and influence outcomes
  • Strong program/project management and leadership skills to manage projects utilizing personnel from multiple disciplines
  • Ability to identify and manage priorities as demonstrated by the ability to establish, track and meet schedules for multiple projects while maintaining high quality and exceptional customer service
  • Experience analyzing financial reports
