Manages the development of expansion initiatives and marketing plans for assigned areas of focus and ensures their implementation. Position works with Strategy & Marketing Director in developing and operationalizing expansion strategies in collaboration with UL NFP leadership, as well as other internal and external stakeholders, to achieve organizational goals and advance the UL Mission.  Works to understand, identify, and prioritize emerging societal and target audience needs in line with the expertise and capabilities of the UL NFP.  Helps select vendors, platforms and tools to evaluate opportunities across geographies, science areas, and target audiences to facilitate organization growth in line with business requirements. Acts as project manager to lead cross-functional teams through implementation of selected expansion or strategic marketing initiatives.   Oversees business intelligence and market research projects as needed. Ideal candidate will have extensive experience in marketing, strategic planning and execution, business development, and/or market research.  May manage marketing staff.

Responsibilities

 

  • Working with UL NFP leadership and other key internal and external stakeholders, contributes to the development of value propositions and strategies to advance the UL mission, complement UL’s commercial activities, and enhance enterprise value.
  • Through business intelligence tools and monitoring, identifies new business and market opportunities and recommends strategies to develop and implement them.
  • Position works on strategies with UL NFP group leads to generate facilitate engagement and collaboration with target audiences and key influencers
  • Works with project teams to develop and implement expansion initiatives, including marketing activities, to directly support business development efforts and drive measurable success.
  • May lead development and execution of signature marketing campaigns, in line with strategic priorities
  • Develops and coordinates executive presentations and de-briefings.
  • May provide advisory or work direction to other employees in charge of specific initiatives or areas of focus
  • Ensures optimal format and delivery of communications through the active use of target audience segmentation
  • Coordinates with branding function on leveraging and incorporating UL brand management into marketing plans and tactics.
  • Manages budget to ensure adequate funding exists and budget is adhered to.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • University Degree in business administration or a related discipline plus generally eight years of experience in market analysis, development of business plans, and  marketing strategy.
  • Uncover insights and leverage them to develop actionable strategies.
  • Work in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment.
  • Interface with different levels of management.
  • Manage multiple projects with high quality and exceptional customer service.
  • Direct the work of others.
  • Managing external agencies and consultants.
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence platforms.
  • Experience working with non-profit organizations a plus.
  • Experience managing market research projects a plus, both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Copywriting skills a plus.
  • Project management software experience a plus.
