Responsibilities

  • Under general supervision, develops and designs IT technology solutions within Operating systems and hardware systems. Performs complex analysis and translation of business, information, and technical requirements to achieve IT solutions that meet business needs. Develops design specifications and deliverables related to the support system enhancements.

 

  • Develops and designs technology within Operating Systems and hardware systems.
  • Performs complex analysis and translation of business, information, and technical requirements to achieve IT solutions that meet business needs.
  • Develops design specification and deliverables that support of system enhancements.
  • Collects and analyzes information regarding technology processes and systems.
  • Perform capacity and resource analysis and planning
  • Leads project work for other technical IT functions including Data Security and Disaster Recovery.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus generally five years of directly related experience. Working technical IT experience in area(s) of specialty.
  • Identify and remediate issues with Red Hat Linux & VMWare
  • Improve or create new documentation for processes or build documents
  • Monitor overall system performance and capacity
  • Perform tasks necessary to fulfill service level agreements for application availability and accessibility
  • Follow UL Security & Backup Policies
  • Develop innovative solution to meet business needs
  • Responsibilities sometimes require working evenings and weekends, sometimes with little advanced notice.
  • Experience with the following:
  • Red Hat Linux
  • VMWare
