Responsibilities

UL is seeking an internal Engineering Coordinator who will utilize their project handling and customer service skills in our High Speed team.

 

Under general supervision, process correspondence, reports, procedures and other documents to facilitate the intra- and interdepartmental engineering functions. Prepare technical reports, product descriptions, test records, and other correspondence as assigned. Collect pertinent component information, develop product descriptions, and gather, identify and collect information relevant to revised construction evaluation and factory inspection material.

 

  1. Completes handling of basic projects such as defined no-test projects and basic engineering no-test projects.  Prepares technical reports, procedures and other forms and records based on interaction with customers, UL engineers and other UL functional groups. 
  2. Works independently as an owner of a project for basic requests from start to project completion. 
  3. Gathers information for technical report preparation by examining information provided by the customer and feedback from UL engineers and other UL functional groups. 
  4. Processes customer requests to meet/exceed customer expectations. 
  5. Communicates with clients and employees in order to clarify information pertinent to the customer request.
  6. Uses system software for document management, correspondence, file management, technical reports, and product descriptions. Possess the ability to process transfer requests, familiarity with ULtraLink, FUS db, PCD, Workbench, DMS, ePublishing, FLEX, and willing to learn other systems as needed. 
  7. Executes the timely completion of projects.
  8. Performs other duties as directed. 

Qualifications

Higher Secondary Education (Equivalent to a High School Diploma) and one year directly related experience. 

  • Able to work in a team environment to meet team objectives and cross train where the need arises. 
  • Able to accept and provide constructive criticism as it pertains to individual and team development.
  • Basic knowledge of UL objectives and structure and the ability to apply knowledge of UL services, policies, and procedures. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in order to interact with internal and external clients as well as prepare reports, correspondence, and presentations. 
  • Ability to successfully multi-task as well as the ability to plan and carry out projects to achieve stated objectives.
