Responsible for leading a diverse GMA team across the globe and the management of various certification programs, with the overall objective of positioning UL as a leader in providing holistic market access solutions. The program goals are highly integrated with Business Unit strategic objectives, and having major collaborative interaction with regional leadership, key functions (such as legal and CPO), and governmental agencies. Leads the coordination of all UL GMA activities related to the operations of CO programs, the quality and compliance of relevant UL and external policies. Be a change leader and guide the GMA team as well as the boarder organization to transition to a future state enabled by the digital transformation.


  • Provide global oversight of various CO program owners
  • Translate certification requirements and relevant policies into effective operating processes
  • Work with divisions to define and achieve market-competitive service delivery that delights clients while maintaining quality and compliance
  • Ensure upcoming regulatory trends, changes and impact are communicated to the affected business divisions in a timely manner
  • Partner with business divisions to develop and implement new certification programs to support new GMA solutions and services
  • Work closely with the Transformation team and the divisions to redesign the certification process in a digital and document-less way
  • Lead the implementation of the Certification Workbench and the GMA capabilities in myUL portal
  • Provide strong leadership in change management, including the GMA teams, the divisions and the operations, as well as clients
  • Performs other duties as directed


  • University Degree (Equivalent to a U.S. B.S.) or equivalent experience, or related disciplines plus generally seven to ten years of direct work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to motivate many kinds of direct reports and team or project members, inviting input from others and sharing ownership and responsibility. Can create a climate in which people want to do their best and are empowered to do so
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high levels of employee performance through development of performance standards and goals, managing employee relations issues, identifying training needs and addressing those needs, planning and executing against required staffing levels, recommending annual operating goals and developing strategies to achieve goals
  • Demonstrated knowledge of project management
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and negotiate skillfully in tough situations with both internal and external groups in order to achieve desired outcomes without damaging relationships is preferred
  • Ability to interpret complex information gathered from diverse sources in a wide variety of forms. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions in situations where few decision-making guidelines exist
