UL is seeking a Bluetooth Laboratory Lead to join our Wireless team in Fremont, CA.



The Bluetooth Laboratory Lead will have the following responsibilities:

  • Main interface between UL and Bluetooth SIG for BQTF (Bluetooth Qualification Test Facility) lab operations for North America
  • Manage the BQTF locally in North America
  • Maintain ISO 17025 accreditation while meeting Bluetooth SIG's BQTF requirements
  • Interface with customer before and during testing
  • Manage project from beginning to end
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time
  • Communicate with Bluetooth Qualification Experts to support the Qualification Testing requirements of customers
  • Execute test plans for Bluetooth RF, Protocol and Profile Testing
  • Communcate with UL staff and customers on project progress and scheduling
  • Provide failure support when produsct do not meet the Bluetooth Qualification Program requirements

Additional responsibilities:


*1. Independently manages and defines project scope for complex projects. Determines project specifications such as cost, time, and sample requirements by analyzing client input, available supplemental data, and product construction. Projects may include frequent travel to conduct or witness tests at client sites. 


*2. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for assigned standards, industries and test capabilities. 


*3. Has a detailed understanding of test techniques, procedures and equipment. Performs standard test procedures when necessary. Supports lab as needed to keep projects moving forward. Finds solutions to help support customers’ products in the lab.


*4. Supports sales to help the customer and the lab to agree on completion dates and sample requirements within the area they are assigned. 


*5. Takes the lead on project status communications and client concerns. Works with the team to resolve any customer issues.


*6. Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques in relation to the area they are assigned and within their SME subject. 


*7. Responsible for staff assigned by managing their staff’s title responsibilities and CBS role goals. Sets Goals and provides feedback on achievements through regular communications and Performance Appraisal process.


*8.Understands and evaluates Revenue production for their area of responsibility. Understand and evaluates the time and costs to produce revenue for projects assigned. 


*9. Some travel may be required to conduct or witness tests at other UL locations or client sites, attendance at industry related events etc.


10.  Performs other duties as directed.



University Degree in Engineering (in related field of work), as well as 4 years Work Experience or Equivalent Work Experience.
