UL Compliance To Performance is a preferred partner for the global Life Sciences industry helping clients enter new markets, manage compliance, optimize quality and elevate performance through advisory and software solutions.

We are currently looking for an experienced Practice Leader to grow our Advsiory Solutions teams. 

The Advisory Solutions team is responsible for the development and delivery of complex consultative and professional services projects for clients worldwide. The current structure is a matrix organization, with subject matter experts (SME) functionally reporting to (1) solutions owners for the development of new solutions, and to (2) project managers for the delivery of contracted projects. From an administrative standpoint, the SMEs report to the Advisory Solutions manager. A Project Management Organization (PMO) team is responsible for (1) providing project management support for all projects, (2) resource planning, (3) external consultants network management, (4) forecasting, revenue recognition and client satisfaction.

 

Professional services are typically projects related to the implementation and integration of the Division’s technology platforms with critical enterprise technology platforms within client organizations. Consultative solutions address people, process and technology and focus on helping clients achieve compliance, quality and organizational performance. The Advisory Solutions team also provides thought leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Participates as member of the Division’s senior leadership team.
  • Accepts full profit and loss responsibility for the Department.
  • Identifies and develops new solutions and associated go to market plans that address clients’ problems, support our business and market strategy and drive revenue and DCM, in collaboration and coordination with the Director, Market Innovation and Strategy, with the Manager, Products and with the Manager, Learning Solutions. Leads the team that:
    • Understands the strategic and tactical needs, challenges and trends of the Division’s markets, both by industry and global geography.
    • Understands competition in the global territories, and can articulate UL’s market differentiators.
    • Acts as a partner to our current clients by understanding their goals and challenges and advising them on possible solutions.
  • Ensures high client satisfaction
  • Identifies, develops and maintains a network of consultants who provide consulting services in support of client engagements.
  • Collaborates with the Sales Executives in developing custom solutions or adapting productized solutions to specific client needs, and supporting proposal development.
  • Partners with the sales team in sales efforts, throughout the whole lead lifecycle.
  • Defines pricing strategy.
  • Contributes to market development efforts and activities, such as contributing to regional and industry strategies.
  • Continuous analysis and improvement of department-related solutions, policies, processes and procedures.
  • Continually review existing solutions, pricing and competition to maintain a competitive advantage.
  • Create and foster a team environment, keep employee morale within the department at a high level.
  • Provides coaching and mentorship to teams on client interactions and serves as a senior team member in managing and resolving client issues.
  • Manages the career development and day to day human resource needs of team members.
  • Ensures the quality of the Department’s work continues to be truly distinctive through innovative, Intellectual Capital development with a focus on client impact and tangible results
  • In addition to executing consulting engagements, s/he is expected to actively contribute towards industry specific offerings, whitepapers, RFP/ RFI responses and client discussion documents

Qualifications

  • 10-15 years’ experience in business-to-business consulting and relevant functional experience to support the Business is required.
  • Experience acting as a partner to clients as opposed to a vendor is required
  • At least 7-10 years’ experience in delivering technology-enabled solutions preferred
  • Life sciences regulatory compliance knowledge is preferred
  • Global experience is preferred
  • Demonstrates strong empathy, collaboration, resilience and persistence skills
  • Proven ability in developing innovative solutions, addressing speed to market, knowing what the competition is doing, and having a vision of the future market.
  • Client-focused mentality to understand and appropriately respond to clients’ business needs, with a sense of urgency and focus on client satisfaction.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, as required, by the Business.
  • Experience contributing to a senior management team preferred. This assumes participation in strategic and business planning, product development/strategy, operations, sales, marketing, and overall business direction.
  • Experience managing, motivating and developing high performing teams made of employees and a network of external consultants.
  • Ability to develop and grow a start-up business with limited supervision and with distributed staff.
  • Minimum MBA, MA or MS degree, or related professional experience.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships.
  • Experienced in mentoring, coaching and supporting other members of the team.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Fluent in other languages highly beneficial (e.g. Chinese, Japanese, German, Hindi).
