Under minimal supervision, responsible for coordinating multiple testing areas within a laboratory. Schedules, assigns, reviews and coordinates workflow to assure proper utilization of staff. Supervises and trains assigned staff. Handles the testing to standards for one or more business units or divisions within business units. Performs laboratory tests and record test results in one or more related areas. These include tests without published requirements,or those involving unique features that require the use of independent judgment. May plantests, evaluate test results and report opinions and interpretations. May assist PDEs and/or Engineering to modify existing methods or develop and validate new test methods. Initiates recommendations for new equipment designs and recommends solutions to observed tes tproblems. Develops operating, maintenance, and test procedures.
-Some University education in a related discipline (Chemistry, Biology)
-Four + years directly related experience required
-At least two years of relevant management/leadership experience
-Demonstrated ability to manage and coach staff
-Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining high quality and exceptional customer service
-Demonstrated ability to successfully partner with Engineering and other laboratory personnel to complete projects in a timely manner with high quality
-Demonstrated ability to analyze special testing needs
