What you’ll learn & achieve:

  • Oversees several Laboratory Support Teams in multiple locations.
  • Responsible for the development, achievement, and implementation of operating plans, goals and budgets.
  • Partners with management of engineering, laboratory operations, and business units to ensure customer satisfaction and achievement of business objectives.
  • May participate in corporate or regional initiatives to address and resolve laboratory support quality, technical consistency, and process issues.
  • Manages the maintenance of state-of-the-art laboratory equipment.
  • Establishes and maintains the proficiency training program and competencies for laboratory support personnel.
  • Manages the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.
  • Implements policies, procedures, and practices mandated for the laboratories and support teams to ensure compliance to ISO 17025 as well as other defined accreditation requirements for the designated teams.
  • Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job utilizing the Lean Sigma approach.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

What makes you a great fit:

  • High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of management experience. Experience managing teams across multiple locations preferred.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage department objectives, staffing and budgets.
  • Knowledge of laboratory support issues, needs, and problems involving maintenance, calibration, etc. is a plus.
  • Strong communication and the ability to work with internal and external teams.
  • Demonstrate a strong drive.
  • Ability to adapt to changing policies and procedures.
