What you’ll learn & achieve:

This role oversees the processes and policies of customer samples from request, to receipt, to disposal in North America. 

  • Develops and implements best practices in Sample Handling.
  • Oversees the entire Sample Handling process and associated policies including, sample logistics, security, movement, storage, and disposal.
  • Develops and implements best practices for maintaining sample chain of custody based upon benchmarking against other providers of similar services.
  • Manages sample handling employees and may manage shipping and receiving employees in multiple offices and regions.
  • Develop, obtain buy-in, and implement global sample handling ownership governance process.
  • Partner with our Sourcing Department to determine how to obtain advantageous terms for the shipping and receiving functions for samples.
  • Monitors the measurement criteria and manages reports and dashboards to show current performance and future improvements.
  • Investigate new methods of sample storage to reduce space required for storage.
  • Leads efforts to develop and report sample handling performance metrics to achieve goals.
  • Develop staff training and performance expectations and criteria.

What makes you a great fit:

  • Associate's Degree required. Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in Warehouse, Sample Handling, Operations, or Logistics required. 
  • 3+ years of management/leadership experience required. Experience managing leaders preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage staff in multiple locations.
  • Leverages and embraces the diverse knowledge and expertise of the team to solve problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities.
  • Has shown the ability to build credible relationships and networks with multiple functions using strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Experience leading change initiatives across an organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsof Word, Outlook, Excel, Sharepoint, and Power BI
  • Familiarity with software similar to Labware and Flex.

Total Rewards: The US-specific salary range for this position is $118,000 - $138,000 USD ($135,000 - $158,000 USD for candidates residing in the San Francisco Bay Area) and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position. 
All US-based employees at UL Solutions are eligible for annual bonus compensation. The target for this position is 20% of the base salary offered. Employees are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental & financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country, for the relevant position level.

We also provide employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
