Laboratory Technician

Responsible for making media/ reagents in media kitchen. Provides feedback to management and Engineering staff regarding media kitchen procedures and preparation issues. May initiate recommendations for new equipment designs and recommends solutions to observed issues. 

• Responsible for making media/ reagents in media kitchen for setups in the laboratory.
• Responsible for using large equipment including autoclaves, dishwashers, and stove. 
• Will be handling chemicals, powders, bio-hazardous waste and reagents.
• Will create media reports, and be able to perform quality control on media made. 
• Responsible for supply ordering of reagents, powders, and ingredients as well other items as needed. 
• Initiates recommendations for new equipment designs and recommends solutions to observed test problems.
• Receives instructions from and reports data to engineers and engineering management.
• Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
• Performs other duties as directed.

• High school diploma preferred 
• Knowledge and experience with making media or reagents preferred
