What you’ll learn & achieve:

The Senior Project Manager independently plans and carries out significant projects involving complex and highly visible projects (often of a highly confidential nature) to achieve stated objectives.  They may be able to take on several different line items at a given time.

  • Responsible for managing the implementation of large and complex projects.
  • Provides overall leadership and support to project team members
  • Acts as front-line contact on project related activities, issues, and risks. Manages the project risks and issues and escalates accordingly.
  • Interfaces with Business Unit Leaders and Finance to develop ROI, IRR and other financial measures. Manages stakeholders' communication.
  • Plans the overall project and monitors the progress; performs daily project management throughout the program life cycle.
  • Adheres to program and project governance (controls).  May have input into defining the project governanace.
  • Manages the project's budget and financial performance.
  • Coordinates the projects and their interdependencies.
  • Manages and utilizes resources.
  • Aligns deliverables to the project's "outcome" with the aid of the business change manager.
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices.

  • Excellent project management and team leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, with senior stakeholder reporting and escalation experience.
  • Excellent facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the moment.
  • Focused and versatile team player who is comfortable under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability.
  • Understand current and future business goals and ongoing IT issues to ensure business success.
  • Understanding of software development lifecycles (i.e. Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, Iterative)In depth understanding of project management concepts.
  • 6+ years of project management experience.
  • Experience working on project and portfolio management Tools (Visio, MS Project, Clarity, etc.).
  • Bachelor’sdegree in computer science, information technology, business or related field.
  • PMP, Prince 2and/or Agile certification (preferred) with related hands on delivery experience
