The Chemical Insight Research Institute (CIRI), a UL Research Institute (ULRI) is seeking a Digital Communications Specialist. In this role, the The Digital Communications Specialist will work closely with the PR and Amplification Manager to support digital communication of research topics, goals and outcomes that advance CIRI’s communications strategy.

What you’ll learn & achieve:

  • Develop relevant health, sustainability, and research content for distribution to applicable media audiences and digital platforms – website, social media, email marketing, etc.
  • Support the execution of digital communications campaigns and monitor their progress.
  • Collect and evaluate website data, compile detailed reports and translate findings into actionable insights.
  • Ensure digital communications align with brand guidelines and catered to target audiences.
  • Work closely with CIRI leadership and staff to best communicate the science to key stakeholders and understand how messages may change depending on audiences
  • Support conference, tradeshow, and sponsorship needs (pre, during and post event) through coordinated digital communication efforts. 
  • As needed, support management of distribution lists and CMS with updated contacts and applicable consumer and trade publications, associations, etc.
  • Contribute to organizational success by performing other tasks as required

What makes you a great fit:

  • Strong communication both written and verbal with demonstrated ability to translate technical information into meaningful content for multiple audiences
  • Excellent understanding of all major social media networks.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated experience and capability of working across multiple communication tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products

Experience and Education Requirements

  • University degree with minimum three years of related professional experience, preferably communications, marketing, public health, or related discipline
  • One or more years supporting a nonprofit, scientific or research organizationpreferably focused on health, sustainability or chemical/ pollution topics
  • Experience in digital communications and social media campaigns.
