What you’ll learn & achieve:

This architect will be accountable Information Architecture within the Enterprise Architecture (EA) Team / Center of Excellence. Enterprise Architecture plays a critical role to manage technology and current / future investments to support the company’s strategic intent.  This individual will work closely with IT and business leaders to determine how best to harness information (data in context) to realize business value.  The role also must align with the Enterprise Data Management & Analytics CoE which plays a critical role in data architecture, master data governance framework, meta data management, application integration and content/document management.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the enterprise information models and architectures such as corporate data model, function models, developing reference architectures, decision matrices, information capabilities, information categories, business entities, and conceptual models to support business capabilities and data management
  • Partners with the IT Sr. Business Partners and other key business stakeholders to identify business subject areas to support, and derive, data and analytics to produce business value.
  • Partner with solutions architects in the Enterprise Data Management and Analytics Center of Excellence to ensure alignment with the Information Strategy.
  • Partner with Enterprise Data Management and Analytics Center of Excellence
  • Develops the information architectures to enable the overall roadmap for the Enterprise Data Management and Analytics Center of Excellence.
  • Develop UL appropriate lexicon to support information literacy across the enterprise.
  • Analyze the current information architecture to identify weaknesses and develop opportunities for improvements in alignment with industry best practices.
  • Lead development and maintenance of current and future state information architecture domain and supporting roadmaps
  • Develop, communicate, and vet information architecture mission, goals, critical success factors, principles, policies, standards, guidelines and procedures. Promote the Information Architecture process, outcomes and results.
  • Addressing reusability aspects of information assets, enforcing the reuse and sharing of information assets, avoiding data duplication and thus reducing development, service, and support costs
  • Establish, implement, and direct the data, information and analytics governance process. Lead and facilitate the information governance process based on governance structure. Manage exceptions to architectural standards at a domain level. 
  • Review and approve recommendations to architectural standards for information architecture.
  • Identify the tools and components used within the domain based on the enterprise toolset and can define exceptions as warranted.
  • In the role of a subject matter expert on information architecture, provide internal “consulting advice” as required to IT and business stakeholders

  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to create original concepts and theories for a variety of projects
  • Must have considerable proficiency in understanding of the information architecture discipline, processes, concepts, and best practices with a proven track record supporting business strategies with architectural platforms.
  • Must possess and display strong strategic planning capabilities (approaches and processes, tools, deliverables)
  • Must display a broad technical aptitude and knowledge and have detailed understanding with trends and direction in the industry.
  • Understanding of both agile principles and waterfall development methodologies
  • Familiarity with enterprise applications such as CRM, ERP, HCM, LIMS, etc.
  • Knowledge of existing, new and emerging technologies and ability to practically apply them to new business designs and business models to achieve targeted business outcomes.
  • Knowledge of architectural and operational frameworks, including but not limited to:
  • TOGAF, Dodaf, Zachman
  • DMBOK
  • EIM framework
  • SDLC
  • Change Management
  • Master data management (Informatica)
  • Big Data technologies
  • Relational, Graph, In Memory, Object-oriented, NoSQL, Hierarchical databases
  • Cloud operational information governance
  • REST API framework, API Authentication, DATA services

 

Experience needed to be successful

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or Computer Science/Data Processing. Master’s degree highly preferred in Management Information Systems, Business Administration or related field or equivalent in work experience.
  • Ideal candidate possesses at least 8 years of consecutive information architecture management experience with at least of 3 of those years at a senior architect level or equivalent position.
  • Must have demonstrated success as an information architect at a large complex organization with significant background in leading and operationalizing large-scale projects.
  • Advanced to expert level knowledge and understanding of information architecture styles, reference model and patterns, data architecture, information management, solution design, systems engineering, system and application integration, cloud utilization, and security is required.
  • Prefer experience providing advisory support to technology leadership and building strong trusted relationships through top-tier consulting organizations.
  • Must possess demonstrable skill leveraging efforts within a matrix management organization.
  • Experience and expertise on development and management of information architecture discipline in large, distributed organizations.
