What you’ll learn & achieve:

UL’s Built Environment Division provides the highest level of technical knowledge, expertise and testing, inspection and certification, advisory and commissioning services to support our customers globally throughout the entire life cycle of their products and buildings. UL plays a critical role and acts as a trusted partner to various stakeholders in the built environment and building products industry by understanding buildings, building regulations and codes and requirements and by providing proactive insights on safe, secure and sustainable buildings, risk management solutions and tenant wellness and safety validations. 

  • Lead all aspects of the Sales Function of Built Environment Customer Operating Unit (COU)
  • Guide and support change initiatives and new business models.
  • Champion an engaged, inclusive and attractive work environment for UL employees with a winning culture
  • Develop, communicate and manage the successful performance of regional revenue goals and manages budgets
  • Understand and effectively leverage customer, industry, and internal sales information to drive performance and sustain a competitive edge
  • Direct the development and execution of customer relationship plans that detail business goals and strategies which deliver customer solutions
  • Manage and improve sales strategies and processes and ensures their execution within the team of direct reports
  • Develop and motivate sales professionals by coaching and transferring the knowledge of sales techniques, service offerings and industry knowledge to drive results
  • Manage the performance of direct reports by developing accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing career counseling, feedback and guidance
  • Lead client engagement by developing and managing relationships with key decision-makers for large and medium customers
  • Collaborate closely with other COU Leadership to promote cross selling

What makes you a great fit:

  • 10+ years of experience in sales preferred with prior sales management experience. Proven track record in meeting annual operating plans year over year
  • 5+ years of sales management experience (with 8-10 years preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience managing other sales leaders/managers
  • Change Management: proven change management advocate that can implement positive change to drive results within the sales department
  • 4 Year University Degree in Technical or Business specialization (Advanced Degree in Business is desired, such as an MBA)
  • A resourceful, decisive, and dynamic leader. An individual with a strong sense of purpose, integrity, a compelling desire to succeed
  • Human and engaging, building a culture of trust, inspiration, drive and growth.
  • Strong technical and business/economic foundation, including formal account planning, sales strategy development, sales tracking, and measurement
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with customers throughout all levels of their organization which include highly visible activities such as negotiating or presenting
  • Working knowledge of appropriate technical requirements documents (e.g., installation codes, standards, methods and regulations)
  • Industry expertise preferably in the TIC market - Testing, Inspection Certification or Built Environment or/and fire protection related industry
  • Knowledge and experience in working with CRM (knowledge of Salesforce is nice to have)
  • Very good command of English is mandatory
  • Availability to business travel and work outside of the office

The salary range for this position is $125k - $167k  and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position.

All employees at UL Solutions are eligible for annual bonus compensation.  The target for this position is 45% of the base salary offered. Employees are eligible for health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental & financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country, for the relevant position level.  


We also provide employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
