The Senior Manager, Instructional Design and Learning Technology Services, reporting to the Vice President of Talent & UL University, leads strategic direction, management and execution for the design, development, and assessment of learning initiatives that improve individual performance. Leads internal team and manages offshore resourcing.

What you’ll learn & achieve:

  • Works with variety of stakeholders (business, HR, Talent & Learning) across the enterprise to understand critical business needs, analyze issues, and develop appropriate learning solutions through utilization of instructional design and technology
  • Designs and updates training content including eLearning, visual aids, interactive PDFs, videos, and other supporting materials in alignment with the enterprise and business/functional training strategies
  • Develops, creates or converts existing training/materials into effective and engaging eLearning courses and deploys the content through the LMS
  • Acts as a key consultant and subject matter expert to cross-functional partners, providing instructional design and LMS expertise, perspective, support and innovative solutions.
  • Develops and maintains governance related to enterprise-wide mandatory training (for new hires, current and acquired employees) maintaining clear criteria for inclusion and exclusion to drive a positive employee experience
  • Stays relevant and up-to-speed on industry trends and training-related, technology, activities, and advancements through self-development, research, etc.
  • Develops and maintains effective 3rd party/vendor relationships clearly outlining internal instructional design and technology requirements and helping influence the product development roadmap
  • Manages a team of on/offshore instructional designers and learning technology specialists and oversees their work activities while also executing own projects and deliverables in both areas (player/coach)
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices.

What makes you a great fit:

  • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree) in adult learning theory including roles such as facilitation and instructional design or a related disciplines plus generally ten (10)  years experience in Instructional Design and Learning Technology domain
  • Experience effectively partnering with functional and business stakeholders around identifying and developing learning and technology solutions
  • Demonstrated experience developing on-shore and off-shore instructional design operating model 
  • Experience applying a systematic approach enhancing user experience in their training design
  • Demonstrated experience effectively using different instructional design tools – including Microsoft Office, Sway, Articulate 360, Storyline, and Adobe
  • Experience with implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting variety of learning management systems (market and proprietary); Cloud-based preferred
  • Excellent time management skills and adherence to project timelines to balance a heavy workload while seamlessly shifting focus to deliver on changing business needs.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, strong change agent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel, Word, and Power Point
