What you’ll learn & achieve:

  • Provide product ownership for UL’s ComplianceWire SaaS platform and Create SaaS content authoring tool, helping life science organizations automate their role-based training and qualification programs in support of safe and compliant development and production of pharmaceutical and medical device products
  • Guide the development team by defining the vision, value and context of “why” behind product capabilities/features and help to plan “how” to best deliver them 
  • Work closely with the Product Manager and software engineering, following Agile principles, to define requirements/user stories and acceptance criteria, incorporate feature requests, estimate development effort and prioritize/groom backlog items 
  • Collaborate with the Product Manager on roadmap management and release planning 
  • Maintain the product backlog, ensuring stories, acceptance criteria and priorities are release and sprint ready
  • Work with UI/UX/Designers to generate wireframes and prototypes to support user stories and product demonstrations
  • Facilitate sprint planning and work alongside the Scrum Master to ensure that commitments are met and any re-prioritization decisions are fully informed 
  • Support the development team throughout the development cycle by elaborating user stories, advising on priorities, providing end-user context, and reviewing test coverage
  • Validate whether features have been completed and decide when they will be released 
  • Organize the end-of-sprint demos to communicate to internal stakeholders the output of each sprint
  • Support development of the technical product collateral, such as release notes and online help content
  • Keep track of industry best practices and continuously suggest process efficiencies for the development team
  • Actively model and promote a set of desired behaviors aligned with UL’s CBS
  • Take ownership of own career and professional development by documenting and communicating career aspirations and any associated development needs to their manager
  • Support an efficient cross-functional matrix structure to enable effective product development lifecycle
  • Execute a robust set of processes, focused on product development, release management and product support
  • Leverage a standard set of product management and software development tools

What makes you a great fit:

  • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor's degree) in Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline
  • 2 years or more of working experience as a Product Owner or Business Analysis, preferably in the healthcare space and/or commercial SaaS application
  • Strong empathy for end users and clients, with clear understanding of their needs and why
  • Hands-on experience breaking down large/complex requirements into detailed stories and acceptance criteria to drive product development in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to made decisions and answer questions for the development team on a daily basis in line with bigger picture strategy and objectives
  • Desire to lead and motivate a cross-functional team to achieve or exceed release and sprint goals
  • Experience with UI/UX design, mockups, storyboards and workflows
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working with remote teams
  • Prior usage of Jira, Confluence, Aha, SharePoint, ADO and MS Teams preferred
  • Product management certification is a plus
