We have an exciting opportunity for a Standards Associate Multimedia Designer at Underwriters Laboratories.

 

The Standards Associate Multimedia Designer delivers multimedia production work, and is responsible for the creation of brand-compliant, cost  effective and high-quality creative material based on briefs/requests from stakeholders. In this position, you will maintains impeccable knowledge of brand guidelines and resources.
 

The Standards Associate Multimedia Designer is responsible for ongoing needs including rebranding existing collateral pieces and building external and internal e-newsletters. You will provide general graphic design support for presentations, development of new collateral, imagery and more. There will be other duties as assigned that may include supporting social media initiatives and other content creation and attending outreach events. There might also be some travel expected in this role.

What you’ll learn & achieve:

As the Standards Associate Multimedia Designer, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of Underwriters Laboratories as you:

  • Cultivate a solid body of work.
  • Maintain impeccable knowledge of brand guidelines and resources.
  • Take the design “brief” to record requirements and clients’ needs.
  • Work with a wide range of media and use graphic design/video software.
  • Think creatively and develop new design concepts, graphics and layouts.
  • Prepare rough drafts and present your ideas.
  • Work as part of a team with copywriters, designers, stylists, executives etc.
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices.

What makes you a great fit:

The ideal candidate will bring several qualities to the team, including:

  • 1-2 years, or more of related experience or demonstrated competency.
  • Associates BS/BA/BFA degree in design, visual arts or related field.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Proficient writer/proofreader.
  • Proficient in video a plus.
  • Ability to give/take direction.
