What you’ll learn & achieve:

Under the supervision of the VP Legal, Brand Integrity, Ethics & Investigations, the Senior Ethics & Compliance Specialist will be responsible for actively driving compliance with and adherence to the Company’s internal policies and procedures, including the UL Solutions’ Standards of Business Conduct.  In that regard, such person will play an important role in further establishing and maintaining an effective corporate compliance program.  In performing such role, such person will work closely and collaboratively with both customer operating units and strategic support units.  The person in such role must likewise be collaborative, inquisitive, and have excellent practical judgement.  Such individual must further have strong analytical and organizational skills, the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, and the ability to handle large volumes of work in a highly matrixed organization.  Such individual must further possess an “ownership mentality,” but simultaneously thrive as part of a team.  Depending upon such person’s skill and experience, responsibilities may eventually expand to cover more strategic and additional responsibilities.





  1. As applicable, oversee the establishment and implementation of a corporate policy management framework across the Company


  1. Assist in establishing/modifying procedures/processes across the Company


  1. Assist in implementing processes/procedures to allow enhanced centralized management/monitoring of compliance matters across the Company


  1. Assist various internal teams in harmonizing policies and compliance frameworks


  1. Assist various internal team in drafting and reviewing policies, procedures, documentation, and communications related to ethics and compliance matters


  1. Assist various internal teams in developing and/or conducting training pertaining to ethics and compliance matters


  1. Assist as directed with the management , investigation and disposition of ethics and compliance matters


  1. As directed, assist in writing and/or editing investigation summaries, and ensuring appropriate documentation


  1. Analyze data related to ethics and compliance matters to identify risks, trends, etc.


  1. Performs other duties as directed

What makes you a great fit:

  • University Degree plus generally 5-7 years of professional experience in legal related or ethics and/or compliance role
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive applicable stakeholders, including senior executives, to effectively/practically address ethical/compliance issues in a collaborative corporate environment
  • Demonstrated strong program management skills, including the ability to lead multiple work streams in a resource-constrained environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; experience and skill in balancing business needs and potential compliance risks
  • Judgement, objectivity, professionalism and integrity necessary to address sensitive, confidential, compliance issues
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal communication and listening skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies
