Hybrid based at our corporate headquarters in Northbrook, IL

UL has an immediate opportunity for a Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in our corporate headquarters located in Northbrook, IL. This individual will be responsible for executing and advancing UL Solutions global DEI strategy, governance and framework in alignment with UL Solutions’ mission and business objectives.  The role will work with every level of business and community leadership to promote an inclusive work environment where our employees are engaged and have an equal opportunity to succeed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Activates and Advances UL Solutions global DEI strategy
• Partners with the HR Advisors to empower and support DEI-related initiatives and to strengthen our connectedness and Ways of Working  to foster and advances the use of metrics to drive desired outcomes that are specific to our business and employee needs
• Partners with Centers of Excellence across HR, including Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Learning & Development and Total Rewards to engage, retain and develop a diverse talent pipeline
• Partners with local, national, and global community organizations, colleges, universities and professional organizations to engage diverse talent
• Works with business leadership at every level to progress DEI as a business imperative
• Creates compelling initiatives and programs that help leaders and employees actualize the benefits and improve engagement of DEI for themselves, customers and UL Solutions
• Serves as a primary point of contact for existing and future Business Resource Groups (BRGs) driving a unified strategy and activities aligned to the framework
• Connects DEI strategy and UL Solution’s Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) and business strategies
• Serves as lead and coordinates meetings and activities of the DEI Executive and Leadership Councils.
• Prepares Board of Director reports, including metrics, ROI, accomplishments, as well as future activities and strategies
• Represents UL Solutions at both internal and external events through speaking engagements and attendance
   

• Ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; advanced degree is preferred and 7+ years of relevant experience; global experience a plus
• Proven ability to think strategically around Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
• Proven ability to implement creative DEI specifics strategies into HR, business and enterprise priorities
• Successfully created and led an innovative Diversity and Inclusion strategy or other large scale change management initiative
• Strong writing, speaking and presentation skills
• Thought leader with the ability to establish community, ESG and DEI networks
• Exhibits energy and passion around this important strategic inactivate
• Ability to lead through impact
• Strong business acumen, organizational savvy and project management skills
• Excellent partnering skills including working collaboratively, effectively, and efficiently with internal and external customers
• Demonstrated experience operating within a large, complex, matrixed organization
