What you’ll learn & achieve:

The VP Pricing is a member of the Commercial Excellence Leadership team and works closely with marketing and product management, engineering, field sales organization, key business partners and the senior management team, to maximize the profitability of the business by systematically employing key pricing levers. Owns the pricing and reimbursement strategies for current and future products. Leads analysis of market drivers and competition to determine price of new products. Delivers financial impact by deploying best-in-class marketing tools and framework.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads Pricing strategy development and execution, ensures close collaboration with Segment Management, Marketing and other groups.
  • Oversees contract policies, pricing framework, processes, structure, and governance to ensure shared “One UL” framework across global and local sales teams.
  • Owns and provides pricing policies, processes, structure, governance, and analytics that are aligned to Segment Management and business goals
  • Leads an enterprise-wide deal desk to evaluate, direct, and support pricing and proposal needs and requests
  • Closely collaborates with commercial teams on sales process, sales tool usage and sales training across all regions and industries, ensuring sales managers and staff are knowledgeable about pricing policies, strategy and processes.
  • Provides cross-functional support and guidance for large deals, RFP proposals and off-standard pricing
  • Coordinates with other COU on cross-COU selling efforts, and ensuring consistency
  • Owns Value Management/Value Pricing, maintains overview to establish guidelines for standard and off-standard pricing and terms
  • Leads development of analytical tools and pricing databases
  • Manages the performance of direct reports by developing accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing career counseling, feedback and guidance and ensuring that all policies are understood and adhered to.

What makes you a great fit:

  • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree) in Business or a related disciplines plus generally 10+ years’ experience in Sales, Marketing or Finance within global organization.
  • Superior strategic skills, proven general management, and leadership abilities. A strong commercial orientation, but sensitive to public safety mission.
  • A quick study - one who can learn a new business rapidly, and thrive in a steep learning curve environment.
  • MBA is preferred
  • Strong technical and business/economic foundation, including sales tracking, and measurement.
  • Ability to interact with customers throughout all levels of their organization
  • Ability to work and lead in a matrixed organizational structure
  • Exceptional Interpersonal and People Management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Related industry knowledge and/or technical background
