Underwriters Laboratories’ Chemical Insights Research Institute (CIRI) is looking for a data scientist who uses advanced mathematical and statistical concepts and theories to collect and analyze data and construct solutions to complex research and stakeholder problems. Performs advanced statistical analysis on experimental or organizational scientific data to identify, validate and quantify trends or patterns based on guidance from research or research amplification leaders. Constructs advanced predictive models, algorithms and probability engines to support data analysis or product functions; verifies model and algorithm effectiveness based on real-world results. Our core mission at CIRI is to help improve the health of people and the planet. More than 90% of children across the globe are exposed to a toxic mixture of chemicals in the air daily. We then deliver these scientific insights in actionable ways so educators, manufacturers, healthcare providers, and consumers can make informed environmental health decisions and extend lives. To be successful in this role you must enjoy working within a multidisciplinary team in order to undertake comprehensive studies and investigations.
