Emergo by UL Solutions is a leading regulatory consulting firm specializing in global medical device and IVD compliance and innovation. Our comprehensive solution is designed to help medical device manufacturers achieve and maintain regulatory and commercial success.

What you’ll learn & achieve:

We are currently looking for a General Manager (GM) to lead the Emergo team. As GM, you will be directly responsible for the profitable growth of the business both through organic expansion and via acquisition and partnership. You will have full P&L ownership with direct responsibility for operations and will be responsible for developing and successfully executing plans for growth and operational excellence. You will also be responsible for developing expansion strategies and deploying new services and solutions to support current and prospective Emergo clients.


As a GM, you will also:


  • Provide daily management and long-term partnership to ensure that the Emergo business meets the customers’ needs and achieves monthly and annual business operational and financial metrics/goals.
  • Responsible for ensuring profitable organic growth and the development of new partnerships and potential acquisitions.
  • Develop and implement a global growth strategy, targeting new business opportunities in existing or new markets.  
  • Oversees the development and launch of new/innovative services and solutions to meet the needs of Emergo clients
  • Establish relevant contacts with potential key technology partners/strategic alliance partners and develop a commercial partnership strategy.  
  • Identify new service products to cater to evolving client demands and requirements, create the required service portfolio, beyond UL’s traditional business. 
  • Effectively manages all operational aspects of the business to ensure profitable performance.
  • Drive global consistent and efficient process for seamless customer delivery 
  • Improves operational efficiency by streamlining processes, adopting best practices in the areas of lean, automation, and process improvement, and adopting global best practice.
  • Guide and support change initiatives and new business models 
  • Ensure that cross-selling synergies with other UL businesses, locally and globally are being developed.
  •  Hire, motivate, develop and retain excellent leaders, technical and commercial experts.
  • Champion an engaged, inclusive and attractive work environment for UL employees with a winning culture 
  • Engages and motivates all employees with a common vision, sense of purpose, and shared objectives for UL.
  •  Builds a strong and internally capable management team, including developing bench strength for long term succession planning focusing on the internal development of high potential employees wherever possible.
  • Provide direction and support for specific challenges that have major impact on the business, such as integration and process improvement. 
  • Incorporate Board feedback on strategy and actions 
  • Build personal relationships and establish credibility with Extended Core Team members 
  • Interact with key customers and other stakeholders across the globe 
  • Attend industry events and network with customers and key stakeholders 
  • Engage in “deep dives” with big and complex customers
