What you’ll learn & achieve:

As our global footprint continues to grow, we are looking for an Enterprise Integration and Interoperability leader who will be responsible for the Enterprise Integration and Interoperability platforms. These platforms deliver services including the capture, transformation and delivery of transaction and aggregated data across key data domains at UL. They also integrate data in a secure, timely, reliable, and accurate way to support our enterprise business processes, application users, business managers and analysts. Finally, as UL migrates more of its data platforms to the Cloud, this leader will be responsible for the overall Hybrid Cloud micros services based Integration and Interoperability platform architecture to support UL into the future. This individual will work closely with IT and business leaders to determine how best to plan, implement and control activities for the management of our integration data platforms in support of enterprise data and information goals. The Senior Manager acts to assure integrity of corporate data, proprietary information, and related intellectual property and determines long-term corporate-wide information needs and develops overall strategy for systems development and/or hardware acquisition and integration.


What you’ll learn & achieve:

  • Partners with the IT Delivery leaders, Enterprise Architecture, Enterprise Technology, and projects stakeholders to identify, support, and analyze the business’ need for integration and interoperability capabilities to determine how to best drive business value.
  • Develops a company-wide vision, strategy, and roadmap for Integration and Interoperability Platforms. This will include:
    • Provide a strategy, roadmap and set of plans for hybrid cloud-based micro-services integration and interoperability platforms services and capabilities.
    • Capturing and refining the business drivers including the goals, policies and standards, enterprise integration principles and high-level requirements.
    • Collaborates closely with other IT leaders, enterprise architecture and business leaders to architect hybrid cloud-based micro-services integration and interoperability platforms to meet business needs and enable UL’s mission.
    • Establishes appropriate integration and interoperability best practices, processes, and requirements.
  • Navigates the IT organization effectively - knows where, how, when and with whom to interact to drive results
  • Keep IT Delivery, Architecture and Technology leaders aware of key data issues, identifying and resolving potential problems and conflicts.
  • Focuses on developing talent and building a high performing team.
  • Acts to assure the integrity and security of information technologies and/or systems. 
  • Understands and follows the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct and follows all physical and digital security practices.
  • Develops and reviews capital and expense budgets for assigned operations. 
  • Leverages UL IT metrics to ensure quality, timely and consistent delivery.

What makes you a great fit:

  • At least 8-10 years of experience with integration and interoperability technologies, capabilities, and solutions within diverse, heterogenous and hybrid-cloud environments. Oracle Integration Cloud, SOA and Microsoft Azure platform experience preferred.
  • Experience with architecting and designing hybrid cloud-based micro services-based integration and interoperability platforms. Engineering or laboratory industry experience is preferred.
  • Experience serving as an IT leader with budgetary responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, Analytics, or a related discipline. Master’s degree in related area preferred.
  • Advanced level knowledge and understanding in concepts related to hybrid cloud integration and interoperability platforms including principles, policies and standards, data modeling, data transformation, and API architectures.
  • Experience leading and managing large IT teams
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments required.
  • Experience as a global leader with the ability to communicate/influence culturally diverse people.
  • Experience leading or participating in cross-functional digital and data transformation projects
  • Subject matter expert knowledge of emerging integration and interoperability products and services.
  • Ability to develop and integrate new ideas and initiatives that improve the performance of the organization
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Experience balancing priorities and driving to execution
  • Experience with setting and executing strategies
  • Track record of building strong teams/people
