Underwriters Laboratories is seeking an Education Program intern to support a corporate work study program with the Underwriters Laboratories Anti-Counterfeiting team.

What you’ll learn & achieve:

Assist student workers with both professional and personal development goals, including but not limited to:

  • Career exploration
  • Goal setting
  • Contact development
  • College preparation and selection
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Collaborate with members of the Anti-Counterfeiting team and partnering departments at UL to develop projects for student workers.
  • Assist in digital media content production, including but not limited to organizing and logging digital files and documents; creating social media content; ideating and developing graphics and video; creating PowerPoint decks for presentations; and producing content for newsletters and other internal publications.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Familiarity with corporate work-study programs
  • Ability to communicate with and personally relate to high-school aged students, assess their needs, and respond appropriately. High level of maturity with the personal motivation to be a positive influence and mentor.
  • Strong written and oral communication/presentation skills.
  • Positive and collaborative, strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with others across the organization while understanding and working within our mission and strategy.
  • Problem solving and project management skills to identify issues and concerns as they arise and recommend practical solutions for improvement.
  • Ability to work and collaborate with others in a fast-paced environment with organization, attention to detail, responsiveness, and accountability.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Current undergraduate student.
  • Solid organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and manage time appropriately.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to take direction and show initiative.
  • Proficient in Office 365 and able to learn new software applications.
