Role & Responsibilities 

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Chemical Segment, the Project Manager  researches, understands and communicates trends in the Chemical manufacturing industry with current and prospective clients. Where there is opportunity, be inquisitive and ask questions about ‘why’ ‘how’ or ‘who’ they may be using to complete a function and communicate findings to Segment Lead. Work with sales to follow up with any immediate opportunities.

  • Develop strong relationships with current and prospective clients, understand their successes and challenges and how UL Solutions has or could play a role. Create an environment for open communication to obtain feedback, and review and communicate internally to identify trends and areas for focus. 
  • Understand broad functionality of the current set of UL Supply Chain solutions. Provide information on market requirements to help develop and advance UL Supply Chain solutions.  Contribute to preparation of business cases and growth paths. 
  • Collaborate across wide range of teams (sales, customer service, operations, product management, regulatory) to deliver on initiatives, and provide status reports as needed.
  • Where applicable, develop a strong relationship with UL Global Account Managers, Strategic Account Managers, Key Account Managers, and other internal stakeholders to understand and contribute to the UL account strategy  for the client.
  • Contribute to regular business reviews.
  • Assist Marketing and the Market Segment Lead to secure speaking engagements to create a successful influencer network in the market. This may include marketing collateral such as case studies as well as presentations at conferences, with industry associations, and other internal and external meetings.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and emerging regulatory trends and the possible impacts affecting chemical manufacturers, in particular for North America, and effectively communicate summaries to various stakeholders as necessary.
  • Work on strategies in collaboration with multi-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Represent UL at conferences, trade shows, stakeholder events, as appropriate.



What makes you a great fit:

  • University Degree (Equivalent to Bachelor's degree) in Science, Business, or a related discipline
  • 5 years or more of related experience to include chemical regulated industry
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Project management certification is a plus
