What you’ll learn & achieve:

Responsible for the management of UL Enterprise IT's portfolio of projects and programs. Develops and executes IT strategies in support of the IT Portfolio. Manages the development and establishment of UL's Enterprise Program Management process. 

  • Oversees all steps of Enterprise Program Management process to ensure conformance with established policies standards.
  • Creates a portfolio roadmap of all projects that require IT resources that actually helps solve a problem or creates an opportunity for innovation, balancing portfolio capacity over time and forecasting supply and demand.
  • Develops recommendations for a realistic Portfolio plan, with short and long-term planning, given the demand for projects/programs and resources
  • Establishes a Portfolio Lifecycle
  • Monitors strategic changes, resource allocation/demand, performance results, internal/external environments (or uncertain environments) and any risk to the portfolio
  • Performs periodic Health checks of the portfolios
  • Establishes KPIs to measure and monitor and to oversee performance reporting and analytics for the portfolio (progress updates, trends and patterns) in order to make informed decisions
  • Establishes and Lead/Facilitate a Portfolio Governance Board to determine the governance practices in order to provide appropriate leadership, oversight and decision making
  • Collaborates with Finance to ensure spend/benefits are tracking to be aligned with portfolio
  • Collaborates with Senior Business Advisors and Portfolio Stakeholders
  • Collaborates with Business to foster a culture that embraces change
  • Collects Lessons Learned for future portfolio planning

Manages the performance of direct reports by defining accountabilities, establishing performance objectives, providing feedback and guidance, and ensuring that all policies are understood and followed

What makes you a great fit:

  • University Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline plus generally five years of directly related portfolio experience.
  • Some employee management or project management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform management functions such as: managing staff performance through development of performance standards, managing employee relations issues, identifying training needs and planning to address those needs, planning staff levels, assisting in long range operational planning, recommending annual operating goals and budgets, developing strategies to achieve goals, and maintaining budget performance.
  • Detailed knowledge of the delivery of quality IT programs and projects, Strategic Portfolio Management and Program and Portfolio Management processes.
