Do have a ‘hacker’ mindset? Are you trying to bootstrap your way into cybersecurity and information security? Have you outgrown your tech support or QA role and are looking for more? If so, we want to hear from you. We are looking for people who are excited about IT and want to kickstart their career in the InfoSec industry. With this role, you will become a Security Analyst, evaluating IT products through the US-based Common Criteria Certification Scheme (NIAP). This role includes writing security documentation, evaluating product designs and performing product testing. A Security Analyst works under supervision of the lead Security Evaluator and performs assigned evaluation tasks in accordance with UL and NIAP technical procedures.

What you’ll learn & achieve:

  • Perform security evaluations of IT products with oversight from the lead evaluator
  • Perform functional testing activities on network devices, full disk encryption and application software products
  • Perform protocol testing, packet capture and analysis, vulnerability assessment, and general security functionality testing
  • Document work performed in evaluation reports
  • Write documentation describing the security functionality of the product under evaluation

What makes you a great fit:

  • System Administration and/or Computer Networking experience (1 to 4 years)
  • Knowledge of fundamental IT security principles
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate on technical topics, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to learn in both directed and self-directed capacities

 

Nice to have:

  • Bachelor’s or comparable degree, preferably in a related discipline
  • Help Desk experience
  • Linux systems administration; BASH scripting
  • Coding and/or scripting experience (python, Scapy, etc.)
  • Experience setting up networks and familiarity with TCP/IP fundamentals
  • Knowledge of common security related protocols and their design (i.e. SSH, IPsec, TLS, etc.)
  • Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms and encryption modes
  • Experience with vulnerability scans such as Nessus
  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A+ / Network+ / Security+, SSCP or CISSP or other (ISC)2 certs, OSCP, CEH, any SANS courses/certs, any GIAC certs, CySA+,
