What you’ll learn & achieve:

  • Administrative or Documentative
    • Build and lead a Development team alongside a DevOps team to support UL Digital application integrations.
    • Ability to author documentation and instructions for circulation and review
    • Ability to build working examples of prototypes (scaffolding) for distribution to other teams for adoption (jumpstart)
    • Ability to repeat the facilitation of meetings based on an agenda
      • Execute customer insights/feedback surveys to gather information about developer.ul.com and docs.ul.com such that improvements to the developer experience are well understood for implementation
      • Translate information collected during customer insights surveys into Azure DevOps backlog items (EPICs and Features)
    • Understands and can participate in agile/scrum based project management methodologies
    • Ferociously read, interpret and execute Azure/Microsoft/browser-based documentation
    • Customer centric focus and perspective
    • Familiarity with Windows and Linux servers and web application stack
    • Familiarity with Azure cloud services and how to use Azure services to host and build HTTP-based application/API solutions.
  • Coding and Technology
    • C# ASP.NET Core 5 & 6
    • API Development with OpenAPI, versioning, authorization, validation, transformation, & documentation
    • HTML 5, CSS 3, SCSS etc.
    • TypeScript, Javascript, Markdown, yaml, json, etc.
    • Git and GitHub source control repo management
      • Multi-origin management and consolidation
    • SPA App bundling with webpack and NPM
    • HTTP Proxy and Testing Tools
      • Postman
      • Fiddler
      • OWASP ZAP, etc.
    • Quickly get up to speed with new application frameworks (e.g. Paperbits.io)
      • Paperbits, knockout, Bootstrap, Angular, React
    • Scripting Languages
  • Python
  • PowerShell, Bash
  • Azure CLI
    • Styra and OPA (Open Policy Agent)
  • Declarative languages: datalog, Rego
    • HTTP Specification
