What you’ll learn & achieve:

As a Senior Pricing Manager, you will work within our Energy & Industrial Automation Customer Operating Unit (COU) as an advisor for pricing and proposal management. This position provides pricing market insights and benchmarking for new products, existing products, and pricing optimization to ensure our division is offering the best pricing possible. Our ideal candidate will have 10 years of experience within Pricing or Pricing Analytics, as well as a minimum of 5 years’ management experience. Having working knowledge of utilizing Configure Price Quote tool(s) is a plus but not required.

 

Additionally, you are able to transform data into meaningful stories as well as report clear and transparent information to all levels of leadership.

Additionally, you will be responsible for:

  • Provides governance over the pricing policy and quoting Standard Operating Procedures to maintain structure in the Energy & Industrial Automation COU.
  • Conducts performance analysis to identify underperforming contracts, significant shifts in buying behavior, top accounts profitability, and recommends proactive or corrective action.
  • Provides performance insights to COU on account renewals with recommendations for improvements.
  • Collaborates with COU stakeholders on creating and maintaining price lists and discounting guidelines.
  • Generates different pricing analytics such as KPIs to measure price effectiveness and maintain established cadence of delivery.
  • Collaborates with Service Catalog team by providing the hierarchy of a service for implementation into the service catalog.
  • Provides new prices and revisions to the Service Catalog team to load into CPQ.
  • Maintains legacy COU pricing tools such as PowerApps and supports the COU transition to UL’s new enterprise-level CPQ platform.
  • Partners with Product Management, Operations, Finance and Commercial Excellence on identifying revenue thresholds and margin requirements.
  • Collaborates with COU partners to gain understanding on the pricing strategy that will guide the proper market approach for a service, segment, or business line.
  • Assesses Win/Loss to minimize lost opportunities by identifying the cause, apply corrective actions, and learn from won business.
  • Provides benchmark information to enable sales teams to understand the competitive landscape.
  • Leads, coaches, and develops staff.
  • Performs other duties as directed

 

What makes you a great fit:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline, economics or marketing or equivalent education and work experience
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience with 5 years’ management experience
  • Understands pricing variables, market minus/cost+ approach, incentives, packaging and methods
  • Experience working with Configure Price Quota (CPQ) tool(s) is a plus
  • Experience working with external pricing vendors and participating in transformation initiatives
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing people
  • Ability to transform data into meaningful stories
  • Solid Microsoft Excel user including Pivot tables
  • Ability to build relationships across different levels
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to influence stakeholders at different levels of the organization
