The Environment & Sustainability team's mission and passion is to advance global sustainability. We develop software platforms that help our clients track and measure environmental, supply chain, health, and safety management and sustainability data. 

What you’ll learn & achieve:

This position is part of UL’s Asset and Sustainability Performance division working on GHG verification  services. Under the supervision of the lead verifier, carbon analyst- GHG verifier will work on GHG verification projects for multinational organizations across Americas, Europe and Asia. 

 

Under general supervision, manages execution and completion of projects for existing and developing GHG verification services. The carbon analyst -GHG verifier position will work closely with the lead GHG verifier and certification officer conducting organization level GHG verification audits for limited and reasonable level assurance engagements

Job responsibilities will include all activities of the verification process including:

  • Client meetings
  • Sector level analysis
  • Risk assessment and verification plan generation,
  • Data review, spot check and analysis
  • Development of the verification statement and final report.
  • Development and maintenance of tools and resources for the GHG verification process
  • Record and data management and assisting in all activities to maintain accreditation and program quality requirements.
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices.
  • Performs other duties as required.

What makes you a great fit:

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, accounting or related discipline
  • Training and experience in fundamental greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting principles (ISO 14064-1 & 14064-3 and GHG Protocol), including verification and auditing standards;
  • 2 years of experience in GHG verification and/or GHG inventory preparation;
  • Excellent technical writing skills, detail-oriented and highly organized personality;
  • Ability to work independently, to manage workflow effectively and to track and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft office and ability to work with software data/ inventory management platforms.
