What you’ll learn & achieve:

UL is seeking a Software Engineer to join an experienced Scrum Team consisting of a Product

Owner, Scrum Master, Quality Assurance Analysts, Software Engineers, Front-end

Developers, and Architects.


The candidate will be responsible for hands on development across multiple technology stacks, frameworks, and tools (Javascript, C#, HTML, CSS, LESS, .NET, React, AngularJS, Twitter Bootstrap, NodeJS, Express, MS SQL Server, MongoDB, PowerShell, REST, Nuget, Azure Service Bus, NHibernate, Dapper, OWIN, NodeJS, ASP.NET WebAPI, Logi Reporting, TeamCity, Git, Octopus, Resharper, DotCover).


The Software Engineer will be working on web-based development initiatives, ensuring

software development life cycle activities are consistent with the direction set by the Architects

and/or generally accepted best practices. As part of a Scrum Team, the Software Engineer will

be responsible for participating in all team ceremonies and committing to a team-first

attitude. The Software Engineer will be part of a team of peers working on highly technical, enterprise initiatives initiated by Product Owners via a prioritized portfolio of features.


Job duties include code development, code testing, code reviews, research, tool evaluation, documenting patterns and standards, technology evaluation and recommendation. Software Engineers must be able to take high level direction, formulate a plan to achieve goals and execute against Stories and Tasks.



  • As part of a Scrum Team, deliver high quality, “done” work, which is Production ready at the end of each Sprint
  • Be willing to work on whatever the Scrum Team decides is important
  • Work with the Architects on technical, enterprise initiatives and deliver clear, documented, and well-formed opinions, research, and solutions

What makes you a great fit:

  • 4+ years Object Oriented software development/design experience in web-based development for Enterprise level applications
  • 4+ years’ experience in .Net, C# and Microsoft stack of technologies in web-based development
  • Front-end experience with Javascript, React, CSS and NodeJS also desirable
  • Experience with multi-tier system development
  • Extensive experience with RESTful web services
  • Demonstrable Agile experience using a recognized framework (i.e. SAFe)
  • Experience with continuous integration, continuous deployment, and automation frameworks
  • Experience breaking down complex, large Stories into thin slices of deliverable features
  • Demonstrated strong logical and technical problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and quickly comprehend new concepts
  • Demonstrated strong judgment and decision-making ability
  • Capable of rapidly assembling UI prototypes and constructively integrating feedback
  • Demonstrable knowledge of unit testing and integration testing
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
