As our global footprint continues to grow, we are hiring the Director & Regional General Manager for our Engineered Materials Customer Operating Unit (COU) in the Americas. The Director & Regional GM will lead strategic, sustainable and profitable growth through our focus on solving our customers' key challenges and collaborating across the enterprise while fostering a winning culture. 

What you’ll learn & achieve:

  • Own the regional growth strategy based in depth understanding of local industry dynamics, in alignment with Industry leaders. Provide input to LRP and execute global strategy with locally relevant initiatives.
  • Maintain in depth understanding of regional COU dynamics to
  • Establish relevant contacts with key customers, potential key technology /strategic alliance partners and develop a commercial partnership strategy
  • Responsible for Regional Customer Operating Unit P&L
  • Manage financial forecasting and budget
  • Grow share
  • Ensure teams collaborate and have the right processes and tools to best serve customers
  • Oversee daily operations within region to accomplish operating goals, including budgeting, financial objectives, sales, operations and employee engagement.
  • Execute new initiatives and investment plans
  • Own productivity improvement plans
  • Own regional NPS action plans
  • Champion an engaged, inclusive and attractive work environment for UL employees with a winning culture. Ensure the right talent is in place to support the needs of the business
  • Manage service delivery units outside customer operating unit (e.g. Shared Lab and Field Engineering) to meet operational and financial goal
  • Attend COU Leadership Meetings, present business plan and strategy
  • Incorporate Board and Leadership feedback on strategy and actions
  • Build relationships with Regional leadership (under Commercial Excellence) and other COU regional leaders
  • Interact with key customers and other stakeholders across the region and be able to influence
  • Attend industry events and network with customers and key stakeholders Engage in “deep dives” with big and complex customers
  • 5-8 direct reports within Regional Leadership Team including Sales and Operations
  • Understand the unique strengths and developmental areas of direct reports and the team
  • Establishes opportunities for growth to enhance career journey

  • UL has COVID-19 protocols and policies in place. Business related travel on behalf of UL requires proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
