What you’ll learn & achieve:

The Product Analytics Lead will be an integral part of UL's corporate marketing insights and analytics team. This is an exciting role with tremendous growth potential in a rapidly evolving global organization.


We are looking for a Product Analytics lead with a good business sense and thorough understanding of user engagement modeling.


Ideal candidate will have hand-on digital product analytics experience using tools such as Google Analytics, Python and SQL, and a passion for big data analysis. The ideal candidate will have deep analytics and visualization expertise, perform timely deep dive analysis into important business issues, and build automation into existing processes.



  • Responsible for implementing digital product analytics strategy for a portfolio of web-based applications.
  • Defines and develops user-friendly reports and graphics that integrate and convey complex data/information and maintains data catalog to provide key data sources to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conducts in-depth user data analyses using traditional and advanced statistical methods.
  • Aggregates and transforms data to test hypotheses, prepares and analyzes data to meet the needs of efficient data analysis. Explains difficult or sensitive information to appropriate audience.
  • Develops and implements programming solutions to conduct data preparation, analysis and visualization in support of statistical modeling, data analytics and interpretation.
  • Transforms complex data into creative graphs, tables, charts and other graphics in order to present and/or share the data in a comprehensive and concise manner. Uses data to build consensus.
  • Assesses trends and provides analysis to identify emerging business critical issues.
  • Identifies and defines opportunities for safety solutions by analyzing historical patterns.
  • Define, develop and deploy data, analytics and reporting products and services. Conducts data validation, statistical analyses, and data mapping.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead projects with manageable risk.
  • Read and follow the Underwriters Laboratories Code of Conduct, and follow all physical and digital security practices.

What makes you a great fit:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field with strong track record of academic performance. Master's Degree preferred
  • Generally five years of hands-on analytics experience, with demonstrated track record of manipulating large, complex data sets
  • Experience with advanced statistical modeling and machine learning techniques
  • Proven comfort and an intellectual curiosity for working with very large sets of data, pulling in relevant team members to address identified, and sometimes undiscovered, needs
  • Expertise in SQL, Python/R, and Excel
  • Ability to make trade-offs between effort and return, and automate tasks when appropriate
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort breaking down and attacking open ended problems
  • Team player that can collaborate and communicate with people across all levels and functions
