What you’ll learn & achieve:

Serve as project owner for UL 9540A fire testing investigations performed on energy storage systems. Perform risk analysis and identify fire risk mitigation techniques for energy storage systems. Design and build toxic gas identification apparatus for fire testing of energy storage systems. Perform gas composition analysis for gases coming out of a battery storage system under thermal stress. Responsible for operation and maintenance of custom gas collection equipment and capabilities to analyze and interpret data for use in fire and deflagration mitigation strategies. Perform lithium ion energy storage system fire testing utilizing various fire suppression mitigation utilized in product testing and safety certifications. *This position qualifies for UL LLC’s employee referral policy program.*

What makes you a great fit:

Master’s degree in fire protection engineering and 2 years of experience in fire protection consulting

 

Must have work experience in each of the following: 1) fire mitigation systems product improvement; 2) operation and maintenance of custom gas collection equipment and capabilities to analyze and interpret data for use in fire mitigation strategies; and 3) experience with lithium ion energy storage system fire testing utilizing various fire suppression mitigation utilized in product testing and safety certifications.
