As our global footprint continues to grow, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Brea, CA!

 

UL is currently seeking a motivated Electrical Engineer focusing on medical device evaluation and testing.  It will include hands-on laboratory engineering that requires safely testing products for fire, electrical, and mechanical hazards, which can sometimes result in catastrophic failuress.

 

 

What you’ll learn & achieve:

  • Initiates communication with clients to promote and explain the benefits of new and existing services. Follows up on communication from clients. 
  • Establishes appropriate test programs by reviewing files and manufacturer's information, examining samples, and applying UL requirements.
  • Coordinates laboratory activities by preparing data sheets and instructions to technicians, assisting and reviewing work of laboratory technicians, and establishing completion dates.
  • Communicates project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports. Prepares UL Follow-Up Service Procedures and CB Reports.
  • Integrates continuous improvement concepts and techniques into all aspects of the job.
  • Resolves engineering issues associated with Variation Notices by analyzing and reporting on the acceptability of the variations.
  • May be asked to travel locally occasionally to witness testing or conduct construction reviews at customer’s facilities.
  • Performs other duties as directed.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical or Biomedical Engineering highly preferred)
