What you’ll learn & achieve:

UL Solutions Management - Assets & Sustainability is seeking an experienced Software Product Manager to join our dynamic Product Management team! Reporting to the Senior Product Manager (E&A) - EHS, the Software Product Manager will play a vital role in setting the strategic direction of the PureOHS, OHM and SYSTOC applications, The Software Product Manager will focus on increasing the profitability of the current application and will play an integral role in defining the product roadmap based on market and competitive trends. In addition, the Product Manager will be responsible for assisting with the product planning process, developing business requirements and functional specifications, working with development and QA to implement new functionality, and rolling it out to customers. 

Responsibilities

  • Draw on internal/external market research and competitive intelligence in order to identify new market opportunities and to differentiate our products from competitors and the market.
  • Assist in defining product roadmap.
  • Define the strategy for software product lifecycle, including sunsetting applications and migrating customers to upgraded platforms.
  • Work with customers, development, support, sales, marketing and the management team to design features and specifications that will grow EHS revenues and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Translate market trends and company vision into product requirements and functional specifications.
  • Work with the development team on wireframes and prototypes to enhance the usability and functionality of the application.
  • Maintain understanding of technology trends and changes within the training and safety management market.
  • Communicate business objectives and requirements to both onsite and offshore development teams clearly and effectively.
  • Manage the release process by working with Marketing to plan customer communication, training internal teams on the new capabilities, and capturing key business metrics post-launch.

What makes you a great fit:

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree. Degrees in math, science, or computer science a plus
  • Must have 8-10 years of Product Management experience creating user-friendly, scalable enterprise software
  • Ability to closely monitor industry trends, competitive new offerings and primary/secondary market opportunities
  • A unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality
  • Ability to design elegant solutions to complex business problems
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work with customers and vendors at both a business and technical level
  • Ability to negotiate with Executives, Product Managers and Engineers on new functionality as well as enhancements
  • Ability to understand and translate all business and user requirements
  • Ability to articulate technical and user needs in a concise manner that is easily understood by all
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple activities and objectives efficiently
  • Good problem solving and issue resolution skills and experience
