Join the front line of UL’s Consumer Technology division (CTECH) as an Outside Sales Representative based anywhere in the West Coast region of the US!  Become the part of a  truly global organization with countless labs and resources supporting you to drive business results! In this sales support role, you will drive customer intimacy by assisting a professional team selling the breadth of UL’s complete solutions. Cutting edge technology is our NORMAL and you can make a difference in the new 21st century technology revolution!


    Under minimal supervision, the Outside Sales Representative is responsible for processing moderate to complex orders for products or services from sales staff or direct customer contact. The representative will function as the processing agent for the sales teams, providing all applicable services from initial customer request processing through quote development and delivery.  The representative will coordinate with multiple departments regarding order status, pricing, product or service availability, financial processing and serve as a prime contact for our operational project management teams.


    Additional responsibilities:

    • Focus on integrity, customer satisfaction, service line growth, expansion of services and sustaining customer loyalty.
    • Build relationships with various internal and external customer constituencies ensuring business continuity and process flow.
    • Provide value propositions, handle objections, prepare quotes and assist sales teams by getting internal and external commitment.
    • Ensure success of the team through attention to detail while providing insight and sharing best practices.
    • Respond timely and effectively to urgent and sensitive customer issues.
    • Perform other duties as directed.


    • High School Degree required, Associates or Bachelors preferred
    • Minimum of 2 years in a sales, customer service or related field
    • Testing, Certification and Inspection industry knowledge a plus
    • Demonstrable history of meeting or exceeding time sensitive deadlines
    • Proficient in MS Office, CRM and experience with multi-model database management systems
    • Solutions orientated with customer focus
    • Strong communication skills 
    • Experience in developing quotations, booking orders and customer agreements
    • Interest in science, new technology, and learning something new everyday
